THEATRE DES CHAMPS ELYSEES/ OPERA ROYAL DE VERSAILLES/ OPERA
Avec Tancrède, Rossini renouvelle le genre de l’opéra séria. Composé à l’âge de 21 ans, ce mélodrame héroïque inspiré d’un texte de Voltaire connait un grand succès au moment de sa création à Venise en 1813. Dans la fosse, l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France est dirigé par Enrique Mazzola et sur scène, on retrouvera l’exceptionnelle contralto canadienne Marie-Nicole Lemieux. Autre vision de Tancrède, celle de Campra, qui s’inspire quant à lui de La Jérusalem délivrée du Tasse. Un opéra baroque considéré comme le chef-d’œuvre du compositeur français. Pour servir ces pages, la production réunit l’Orchestre Les Temps Présents dirigé par Olivier Schneebeli, et les solistes Benoît Arnould, Chantal Santon ou encore Isabelle Druet, tous rompus à l’esthétique baroque.
