L’histoire d’Octavio de la Roza a quelque chose d’un conte, fait de hasard et d’amour pour la danse : adolescent, dans les rues de Buenos Aires, il cire les chaussures, fait le clown dans les autobus… Son talent de performer (il a commencé à danser les claquettes à 6 ans) lui vaut d’être repéré, à 18 ans, par Maurice Béjart, qui lui offre une bourse d’étude. En 2000, le jeune homme intègre le Béjart Ballet Lausanne. Il devient rapidement soliste. En 2008, il amorce une carrière de chorégraphe : depuis lors, avec sa compagnie basée à Lausanne, il enchaîne les créations. Dans Tango mon amour, il invente un rapport inédit au tango. Sur des rythmes tantôt sud-américains, tantôt africains, d’hier et d’aujourd’hui, les trois danseurs nous entraînent d’une passion à l’autre, dans un univers poétique, à la frontière du surréalisme.
