Théâtre des Doms / d’après Tchekhov / mise en scène Natacha Belova et Tita lacobelli
Pour un coup d’essai, c’est un coup de maître : le premier spectacle de l’actrice et metteuse en scène chilienne Tita Iacobelli et de la marionnettiste belgo-russe Natacha Belova, Tchaïka, a reçu lors de sa création au Chili le prix du Meilleur spectacle et de la Meilleure actrice 2018 et le prix du public pour la Meilleure mise en scène. Dans ce seul-en-scène pour une actrice et une marionnette, La Mouette de Tchekhov sert d’inspiration aux deux femmes.
Une cruauté sublimée
Si on y retrouve les personnages d’Arkadina, Konstantin, Nina et Trigorine, le texte est traité à travers la mémoire détériorée de Tchaïka, une vieille actrice qui fait ses adieux au théâtre. Comme dans les pièces de Tchekhov, elle en est à un point de sa vie où elle doit choisir de continuer ou d’abandonner. Si les thèmes abordés sont la violence de la vieillesse, la perte de la mémoire et la solitude de la retraite, leur cruauté est sublimée par la beauté des images, la performance époustouflante de l’actrice Tita Iacobelli et son travail de manipulation d’une marionnette à taille humaine.
