Né à Tirana en Albanie, parisien d’adoption de longue date, Tedi Papavrami compte parmi les personnalités actuelles du violon les plus riches et atypiques. À l’âge de 8 ans, il brillait déjà dans les Airs Bohémiens de Sarasate avec l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Tirana. Remarqué dans une émission de Bernard Pivot, la réalisatrice Josée Dayan l’engage comme comédien à la télévision pour interpréter le rôle de Danceny dans les Liaisons Dangereuses, aux côtés de Catherine Deneuve. Depuis 2000, Tedi Papavrami est aussi le traducteur en France des romans de l’écrivain libanais Ismail Kadaré. Avec son fidèle complice Philippe Bianconi au piano, le fantasque et virtuose violoniste a dessiné pour ce récital chambriste au Musée d’Orsay, dans le cycle « Paris cosmopolite », un parcours « en liberté » où le jazz pointe parfois le bout de son nez : Divertimento de Stravinski, Short story, Trois préludes et Trois mélodies de «Porgy and Bess» (transcrits par Heifetz) de Gershwin, Sonate pour violon et piano n° 2 de Ravel et Le Bœuf sur le toit de Milhaud.
