Le Théâtre des Champs-Elysées poursuit, saison après saison, son exploration des opéras de Haendel. Ce mois-ci, Patrick Cohën-Akenine redonne vie à Teseo, un « dramma tragico per musica » créé en 1713. Le chef des Folies françoises dirige, pour l’occasion, une distribution vocale très prometteuse, où se détachent notamment la soprano Emmanuelle de Negri, protégée de William Christie et toujours stylistiquement irréprochable, ainsi que les contre-ténors Damien Guillon et Xavier Sabata, aux timbres séduisants. Dans le rôle-titre, Max Emanuel Cencic devra nous prouver qu’il n’est pas qu’une star virtuose lancée par une maison de disque. Reste à savoir enfin si cette succession d’arias da capo ne sera pas trop fastidieuse sans mise en scène.
