Un et pourtant multiple dans l’un… Par la pureté de sa forme, polyèdre régulier parfaitement superposable, le cube se combine à l’infini, jusqu’à dissoudre l’unité dans le tout, réfléchissant ainsi le caractère fractal de la matière. « L’impulsion de départ était l’imminente nécessité d’une fusion entre la sculpture et le cirque : l’architecture éphémère. » explique Nacho Flores à propos de Tesseract, solo créé en 2014. Fildefériste durant dix ans, il développe maintenant une technique inédite d’équilibre sur cubes de bois. Construisant des empilements précaires et des formes passagères qui se font et se défont par le jeu des poids et contrepoids, mais aussi par la magie d’images projetées, l’acrobate espagnol défie la chute et dessine la silhouette d’un être en quête de stabilité face à l’implacable gravité qui l’étreint. Cerné de solitude, ce personnage vogue aux confins du rêve, tente mille possibles et s’aventure même sur un escalier qui mène à l’au-delà… Toujours en équilibre au bord des métaphores.
