JAZZ / LA MANUTENTION / AVIGNON
Initié par l’AJMI, l’association pour le jazz et les musiques improvisées qui a fait d’Avignon une place-forte du genre, ce rendez-vous trouve tout naturellement sa place au sein du Off : il défriche les jeunes pousses, tout en mettant en lumière des musiciens plus confirmés, sans oublier de faire débat. Deux tables rondes sont d’ailleurs prévues, interrogeant par exemple le rôle artistique du producteur. Les professionnels sont conviés, mais le public n’est surtout pas oublié. « L’objectif de Têtes de Jazz est clairement d’être une vitrine du jazz et des musiques improvisées à destination des scènes généralistes » prévient Pierre Villeret, le directeur artistique. A l’appui de ces mots, quelques morceaux choisis, en formats réduits : le dialogue post-baroque teinté d’électronique entre la chanteuse Ambre Oz et le contrebassiste Christophe Joddet (du 7 au 12), la rencontre Donkey Monkey entre post-rock et avant-jazz, qui réunit la pianiste Eve Risser et la (dé)batteuse Yuko Oshima (le 8), mise en son par Boris Darley ; le programme Ocean Rivers (du 9 au 16) qui associe en duo le chant de Reinette Désir et le piano de Fabian Fiorini, autour des racines haïtiennes ; la harpiste Laura Perrudin (le 13) qui publie ses émouvantes « Impressions » en solo… Autant d’univers à découvrir.
