Qui ne connaît pas Tetris, le jeu vidéo le plus populaire du monde, et sa petite musique aux accents russes ? Addictif en diable, le jeu n’a pas de fin : le joueur perd la partie lorsqu’un tétromino reste bloqué en haut. Il doit donc résister le plus longtemps à la chute. Résister à la chute ? Voilà une règle qui pourrait aisément se transposer dans la danse. Ici un chorégraphe choisit précisément d’en faire la matière même de sa création. Remplaçant les blocs colorés du jeu par les danseurs du Ballet National de Marseille et du BNMNEXT (le jeune Ballet du BNM, composé de talents en devenir), Erik Kaiel les assemble comme autant de formes géométriques pour « faire surgir l’ordre du chaos ». Ils glissent les uns sur les autres, s’emboîtent, s’alignent, s’imbriquent et forment d’invraisemblables pyramides qui défient les lois de la gravité. En matière de combinaisons humaines, l’imagination du chorégraphe autrichien semble sans limites. Mais attention à l’éboulement ! Le bel ordonnancement collectif pourrait bien se muer en désordres…
