Quelle plus belle manière de fêter la musique de film ? Le théâtre du Châtelet propose en création mondiale l’opéra The Fly (La Mouche) composé par Howard Shore d’après le film de David Cronenberg. C’est d’ailleurs le cinéaste canadien, directeur d’acteurs exceptionnel, qui signe la mise en scène. L’année dernière, au Festival de Cannes, nous avions eu la chance d’entendre Cronenberg et Shore expliquer comment ils essaient toujours d’allier au plus près musique et cinéma. Un tandem en osmose parfaite, dans la lignée de ces couples mythiques : Hitchcock et Herrmann, Spielberg et Williams. Pour autant, le suspense reste total. Comment un cinéaste et un compositeur de musique de film (on doit également à Shore la partition du Seigneur des anneaux) vont-ils s’emparer de la forme lyrique ? Ils seront en tous cas accompagnés par une équipe de choix, d’où ressort le chef d’orchestre Placido Domingo, pour qui les rouages de l’opéra n’ont plus aucun secret.
