La banlieue parisienne est leur territoire commun. Le soutien à la création contemporaine, une de leurs préoccupations majeures. Le développement culturel, un de leurs enjeux quotidiens. De Chatenay-Malabry à Villejuif, en passant par Aulnay-sous-Bois, Vélizy-Villacoublay, Les Ulis ou Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry…, le Groupe des vingt théâtres en Ile-de-France constitue un réseau de dix-sept structures artistiques « guidées par une soif d’aventures collectives ». Des structures dont les directeurs ont décidé de mener des projets en commun et d’assembler leurs différences. Mutualisant ainsi leurs expériences, leurs réflexions, leurs envies, ces responsables de théâtres et de centres culturels franciliens organisent, deux fois par an, ce qu’ils nomment des « Plateaux ». Entendons par là des journées de rencontres professionnelles au cours desquelles des compagnies et des artistes qu’ils ont sélectionnés ont l’opportunité de présenter un extrait de spectacle en cours d’élaboration devant un groupe de producteurs et de programmateurs.

Deuxième axe d’activités de ce réseau artistique, l’organisation chaque année de projets thématiques se composant de spectacles, de lectures, de projets d’écriture, de conférences, de débats…, autour d’un sujet commun. Ainsi, pour 2010, les membres du Groupe des vingt théâtres en Ile-de-France ont choisi de porter leur regard sur la place du fait divers au sein du paysage théâtral actuel. Outre la programmation de diverses créations liées à cette thématique (Portrait de femme de Michel Vinaver, Bash Latterday plays de Neil LaBute…) et l’organisation d’une rencontre à la Maison des Métallos (rencontre réunissant des artistes, des journalistes, des universitaires et des acteurs du milieu judiciaire), le membres du Groupe ont passé commande d’un texte à l’auteur Jacques Dor. Ainsi est né Acide est le cœur des hommes, spectacle que l’auteur interprète (aux côtés d’Adila Carles) et met lui-même en scène. « Ce texte est tiré d’un fait divers, explique-t-il. Une histoire vraie où deux enfants de huit ans sont retrouvés sauvagement assassinés le long d’une voie ferrée désaffectée. » Une histoire au sein de laquelle la parole d’une mère nous interroge « avec force, douleur et parfois humour » sur « le prix incalculable de toute vie ».

Le 10 mars 2010 à la Scène Watteau, le 12 mars au Théâtre André-Malraux de Chevilly-Larue, le 15 mars à la Maison des Métallos, le 26 mars à L’Odyssée à Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry, le 30 mars à La Ferme de Bel-Ebat à Guyancourt, le 3 avril à l’Espace Jacques-Prévert d’Aulnay-sous-Bois, le 7 avril au Théâtre La Piscine de Chatenay-Malabry, le 8 avril au Théâtre Romain-Rolland de Villejuif, le 13 avril au Théâtre des Sources de Fontenay-aux-Roses, le 16 avril à L’Onde à Vélizy, les 7 et 8 mai au Théâtre des bergeries à Noisy-le-Sec, du 10 au 12 mai au Théâtre Jean-Arp de Clamart.
