Plaçant sa saison 2009 sous le signe des « cultures et des questionnements identitaires des îles et territoires de l’Atlantique, des océans Indien et Pacifique », le Parc de la Villette a souhaité offrir au public parisien un aperçu ample et diversifié de la création contemporaine ultramarine. Arts plastiques, photographie, littérature, musique, cinéma, danse et aujourd’hui théâtre : c’est par le biais de nombreux modes d’expression artistique que la culture créole est à l’honneur à la Villette, depuis le mois d’avril. « Le Parc de la Villette continue à se penser comme un espace de mixité sociale, confie Jacques Martial, son président, de rencontres de toutes les cultures, de réflexion sur les identités, qu’elles concernent notre propre société ou d’autres continents. Cette ouverture est indispensable à la compréhension du monde mouvant dans lequel nous vivons. » Ultimes propositions de cette saison thématique, les spectacles Mâ Ravan’ du Théâtre Taliipot, Trames de La Fabrique Insomniaqueet Comme deux frères de la Compagnie Siyaj. Mémoire du corps réveillée au son de la ravanne, tambour commun à toutes les îles de l’océan Indien (Mâ Ravan’) ; face-à-face entre une mère et un fils qui se perdent dans le tourbillon des mots (Trames) ; voyage au cœur de deux âmes meurtries qui partagent rêves et cauchemars (Comme deux frères). Rendant compte d’esthétiques théâtrales diverses, ces trois créations convoquent l’histoire, les mythes mais aussi la modernité des sociétés créoles.
