Interprété par Alexander Vantournhout lui-même avec Axel Guérin, Through the Grapevine s’appuie avant tout sur leurs deux corporéités. Leur apparente ressemblance promet un duo jouant sur les registres de la gémellité et du miroir. Pourtant, ce corps, qui servira en quelque sorte de mètre-étalon pour l’espace de leur rencontre et pour leur mise en relation, ne tardera pas à révéler d’autres ressorts dramaturgiques. Plein de surprises, bien plus singuliers qu’ils n’y paraissaient, les deux artistes se lancent alors dans un corps-à-corps dépouillé, dansé et acrobatique, si étonnant qu’il produit un nombre incroyable de formes. Les membres s’imbriquent, se mêlent voire se confondent, jusqu’à former une nouvelle entité, mi-humaine, mi-animale… à moins qu’elle ne soit extra-terrestre. En tout cas inclassable comme peut l’être Vantournhout.
