Centre d’art et de culture de Meudon / Compagnie B.DANCE / chor. Po-Cheng Tsai
Fondée en 2014, la compagnie B.DANCE du jeune chorégraphe taïwanais Po-Cheng Tsai est de plus en plus repérée dans le paysage chorégraphique. En 2020, il a ainsi reçu le Prix de la révélation chorégraphique du Syndicat professionnel de la critique. Admirateur de Jiří Kylián, Wayne McGregor et Hofesh Shechter, il crée une danse qui associe mouvements traditionnels asiatiques, arts martiaux et danse contemporaine. Rage est la pièce maîtresse de cette soirée. Durant ces 45 minutes de performance, Po-Cheng Tsai explore notre humanité et ce qui la met en péril. Librement inspirée d’un thriller japonais de Yoshida Shuichi, la mise en scène du chorégraphe est minimaliste, sombre, et porte les corps dans un gracieux mélange des genres. Entre solos, duos et tableaux de groupe, la proposition se veut à la fois expression d’une colère individuelle et collective trop longtemps enfouie et d’une volonté précieuse de réactiver une paix intérieure universelle. La seconde pièce, Timeless, beaucoup plus courte (18 minutes), met en scène quatre danseuses, pour un hommage aux femmes. Entre détermination et sagesse, force et subtilité, c’est avec une volonté de mettre en lumière la beauté féminine que Po-Cheng Tsai a créé cet opus. Une soirée de danse qui s’annonce inspirante.
