Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines / de Daniel Marcus Clark
Assis, les yeux bandés, dans la petite salle de la Scène nationale de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, les spectateurs de To Sleep to dream sont invités à vivre une aventure de théâtre peu commune : voyager, par le seul biais de leur imaginaire, à travers l’univers acoustique élaboré par la compagnie britannique EarFilms. Immergé dans un univers audio tridimensionnel (mêlant paysages sonores, narration en direct et partition musicale), le public est ainsi projeté en 2040, dans un monde submergé par les océans. Seul un bout de terre a pu survivre aux effets du réchauffement climatique – Lhaytar, une ville soumise à un pouvoir totalitaire qui interdit à ses habitants de rêver… Cette cité futuriste, avec ses rêveurs-résistants, chacun pourra se la représenter à sa façon, au fil de ses images mentales. C’est là tout l’enjeu du travail de Daniel Marcus Clark, qui a écrit et réalisé le spectacle : explorer les ressources infinies de notre imagination.
