OPÉRA BASTILLE
En Benjamin Bernheim, la scène lyrique a sans doute trouvé son Faust. Le ténor, révélation de ces dernières saisons (« artiste lyrique de l’année » pour les Victoires de la Musique classique, « personnalité musicale de l’année » pour le Syndicat de la Critique en 2020), s’est déjà distingué dans le rôle, qu’il a enregistré dans la version d’origine (1859) de l’opéra de Gounod (sur le label de la Fondation Bru Zane). Il sera ici entouré de la jeune Ermonela Jaho (Marguerite) et du chevronné Ildar Abdrazakov (Méphistophélès). Restait pour l’Opéra de Paris à trouver le metteur en scène idoine : après avoir longtemps gardé à l’affiche la production emblématique de Jorge Lavelli (1975), puis s’être fourvoyé avec celle de Jean-Louis Martinoty (2011), il fait appel aujourd’hui à Tobias Kratzer, qui a signé à Bayreuth à l’été 2019 un Tannhäuser qui a fait grand bruit.
