Adéquation entre la Cité et l’Art, le festival joue chaque année entre l’incongru et la rencontre, l’espace urbain et l’humain, jouant des genres, des codes, des publics, des sensations, avec une curiosité et un plaisir immenses. Avec plus de quarante propositions artistiques, la liste est longue, le programme étourdissant, et tous les arts sûrement représentés. Côté musique, on croise Dominique A revenant avec sa « Fossette » des débuts, le maître « kréol » réunionnais Danyel Waro, mais aussi et entre tant d’autres Melingo, The Fakir, Piano Chat, Marcel Kanche, ou l’Aria composée par l’excellent accordéoniste Arnaud « Nano » Méthivier, un opéra performance engageant collégiens, enseignants, artistes et chercheurs après trois ans de travail. Car acteur autant que programmateur, le Festival coproduit, impulse ou accompagne de nombreux projets, tels The Playground, un choeur urbain chorégraphié, La Trilogie Cirque d’objets, création finlandaise d’un « cirque juste » sous chapiteaux, ou Le Son de la Sève, construction d’un paysage sonore. On retrouve de par les rues, les places et les espaces maintes compagnies et installations, immenses ou intimistes, tels le collectif AOC et ses Vadrouilles circassiennes, la Compagnie Beau Geste et son émouvant ballet de chantier, ou le voyage poétique et éphémère de Frank Boelter, work in progress d’un vrai bateau de papier…
