Fellag est conteur d’abord, sa verve satirique suffit : c’est pourquoi on attend les effets percutants d’un spectacle aux accents subversifs, pétillant de cette ironie bienveillante dans les relations de soi avec les autres. Au départ, s’annonçait une belle idée, placer aux côtés de Fellag les talents vifs de Mariane Épin, comme un regard apaisé et distant sur les facéties savantes de l’humoriste algérien. Shéhérazade est l’épouse de Saïd ; depuis la décolonisation et l’arabisation, les fonctionnaires connaissent la retraite anticipée. Ils se sont installés dans un bidonville, parasitant l’eau, l’électricité. Le week-end, un long film indien passe sur la chaîne TV autorisée ; le soir, jusque dans les années 80, l’hymne national algérien clôt le programme dans l’ennui. Quoi de neuf ? Les Chinois reconstruisent le pays contre la mauvaise volonté française qui, après l’Indépendance algérienne, a arrêté la construction du métro : « Le sous-sol du grand Alger est creusé comme du gruyère, il n’y a pas une seule station ». Les Chinois ont appris l’arabe en trois ans, ce que n’ont pas fait les Français en 132 ans d’occupation.
Fellag en bleu de travail et lunettes de mécanicien raconte
L’ancienne professeur de français algérienne enjoint son truculent mari à raconter ses bonnes blagues, histoire de se changer les idées. Marianne Épin n’hésite pas à jouer la native du pays, injures arabes insolites à la bouche, portant même le voile afin de mieux déjouer les dangers quotidiens afférant à tel choix politico-religieux. La femme ainsi parée ne fait plus rire, si ce n’est le public acquis de Fellag, heureux d’apprécier le mordant d’un concitoyen de coeur. Fellag en bleu de travail et lunettes de mécanicien raconte avec brio, les cohortes de badauds oisifs, des colloques de chercheurs qui se penchent sur son moteur en panne. Quel est le problème de votre problème ? « Dans cette histoire, la voiture est à vous, mais le moteur est à eux ». Le libre-arbitre, spécificité des frères athées et francophones, est à manipuler délicatement par les citoyens. On remonte le temps en évoquant la disparition du regretté stylo à ressort, marque de la colonisation française, et de la pile ronde, souvenir des Turcs. Aujourd’hui, les Algérois portent des T-shirts Abibas, une marque locale de vêtements de sports. Le jeu sur le mot visa provoque un rire franc – vie, va-z-y, z’y va. Mais à vouloir trop jouer, le spectacle perd de sa virulence.
