Loin d’être seulement la messe austère où officient les vampires de la catharsis, le théâtre est une fête destinée aux spectateurs plutôt qu’aux lecteurs, comme le remarque la magistrale Florence Dupont. Joyeux et merveilleux, il est un raconteur d’histoires plutôt qu’une table de dissection froide et glacée. Le cœur du projet de Pierre Humbert est de rendre le théâtre à sa dimension réjouissante en le revisitant avec autant de sérieux que d’humour. Ce spectacle se veut « un parcours sensible où le vécu et l’hypothèse se côtoient » et « une recherche jubilatoire de trois acteurs, amoureux de leur métier et désireux de partager avec le public leur ferveur pour les œuvres dramatiques d’aujourd’hui ou d’hier ». Beckett, Ionesco, Hugo, Musset, Molière, Shakespeare, Sophocle pour étayer l’exploration ; Copeau, Dullin, Jouvet, Vilar, Vitez pour guider la recherche : les trois complices explorent l’histoire de leur art et l’essence de son geste.
