Le marche militaire qui ouvre le spectacle donne tout de suite le ton, et lance ce que l’on retrouvera par la suite dans les différentes situations mise en scène dans la pièce : marcher au pas, s’exécuter sans réfléchir, obéir à l’autre, se soumettre… Tout va bien, pourvu que l’on ne cherche pas à penser sa propre façon d’être face à l’autre, face au collectif, face au monde ! Alain Buffard provoque un mal-être chez celui qui regarde, et qui assiste en spectateur à la grande comédie de l’oppresseur et de l’oppressé, de la domination et de la soumission, de l’impudeur et de la bestialité. Ici, on se parle, on s’invective avec violence et perversité ; le fusil est un accessoire à la mode et l’humiliation est au cœur de tous les rapports humains.
Oppression militaire
Les danseurs et musiciens qui composent cet étrange univers revêtent tous un costume sexuellement connoté, mais sans distinction de genre. Aussi portent-ils une curieuse coiffe, des porte-jarretelles, des mi-bas et des fixe-chaussettes, le tout tendance SM qui colle parfaitement avec les tentatives de brimades sadiques. Buffard se réfère également au cinéma, en clin d’œil à Kubrick et à ses mises en scène de l’oppression militaire avec la reprise du célèbre chant « My rifle is my best friend ». Curieusement, cette pièce acide et drôle n’est pas la plus forte d’Alain Buffard, prompt à pousser le spectateur dans ses retranchements. Il poursuit simplement sa réflexion sur le dressage des corps, sur le genre et la sexualité.
