Ils sont cinq, d’une jeunesse ébouriffante, qui pétillent d’énergie et d’envie de croquer la vie à pleines dents. Coincés par la toile de fond d’un avenir pas bien rose, ces grands ados zonent dans leur existence bricolée de bric et de broc, entre un fauteuil défoncé et un piano en planches rafistolées : ils s’amusent, se disputaillent, s’aiment et vivotent au jour le jour. Ce décor aux accents urbains sert de prétexte à l’enchaînement de numéros traditionnels revigorés par une musique rock ou rap. Formés à l’Ecole Nationale de Cirque de Montréal, les artistes débordent de vitalité à l’acrobatie, au mât chinois, au main-à-main, à corde lisse ou encore à la planche-sautoir et aux anneaux… d’autant qu’ils décuplent les prouesses par de malins trompe-l’œil. Ponctuées de séquences hip-hop, de skateboard et de street basket, les saynètes passent du solo aux mouvements de groupe. Certes, le propos artistique et l’esthétique restent convenus. La démonstration est toutefois bien ficelée et divertissante, portée par la vigueur généreuse des interprètes.
