L’œil vif derrière ses lunettes, la tignasse brune curieusement assagie sous les coups de peigne, l’allure faussement gauche… Malgré ses quarante ans passés, Evgueni Grichkovets a gardé un air de gamin, timide et résolu, une vague ressemblance avec Nanni Moretti peut-être. Ou quelque chose de Woody Allen. Philologue de formation, autodidacte amateur de pantomime avant de fonder son théâtre à Kemerovo, petite ville perdue de Sibérie, l’auteur et metteur en scène russe préfère se dire conteur, « néoromantique urbain » selon son expression. Fouillant dans les dédales de sa mémoire, il tricote ses histoires à même le vécu, qu’il tisse au fil du rêve et brode d’humour railleur. Pudiquement se dévoile entre les mots, perçant la réalité parfois rude du monde, la force des sensations, la poésie des songes. Saccades existentielles qui cognent au fond du cœur…
Au fil de l’imaginaire débondé
Ainsi dans Planète, ballade à travers l’épaisse nuit d’une ville, Evgueni Grichkovets guette-t-il à la lueur d’une fenêtre les chimères de l’amour, libérant les amantes pensées d’une jeune femme comme pour briser la mélodie des solitudes assoupies. Pour Dreadnoughts, il lui suffit de quelques pages d’un livre sur ces fameux navires de guerre, les plus gros jamais fabriqués… et le voilà qui embarque sur le pont, soldat pris entre trivialité et soif d’idéal, petit maillon d’un mécanisme qui le broie. Avec En même temps, Evgueni Grichkovets débonde son esprit et laisse fuser l’extraordinaire bazar de son imaginaire, jouant la cavalcade de ses désirs, fascinations et souvenirs d’enfance. Avec ces petits riens du quotidien qui disent presque tout, il fait courir l’impalpable de l’existence à fleur de peau.
