On ne présente plus Samir Joubran, aîné du trio, né en 1973 à Nazareth en Galilée. Ce virtuose est reconnu dans le monde entier et sollicité régulièrement pour de prestigieuses collaborations, comme avec le poète Mahmoud Darwish. Après plusieurs albums sous son nom, il crée le trio Joubran avec ses frères Wissam et Adrian, eux aussi oudistes. Ils signent ensemble avec Randana en 2005 leur tout premier album puis récemment Majâz, leur deuxième opus, magistrale réussite. Avec le Trio Joubran, on plonge délicieusement dans un univers musical d’une délicatesse et d’une science incroyables, fusionnant compositions personnelles et savantes improvisations, et exploitant une connaissance profonde de la culture des maqâms traditionnels.
