NOUVELLE PRODUCTION / THÉÂTRE DES CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES
Le travail de Pierre Audi sur le Ring de Wagner, inauguré en 1999, avait profondément marqué les esprits. Depuis, cette production, plusieurs fois reprise à l’Opéra d’Amsterdam, continue d’impressionner par son intelligence du drame wagnérien, mêlant le récit et le symbole, la fidélité à l’œuvre et une invention ininterrompue. Le metteur en scène sait trouver aux œuvres même les plus monumentales leur part d’intimité. Pour Tristan et Isolde, qui est un déploiement infini de l’intime (c’est au fond un huis clos qui se tiendrait entre les murs du monde), Pierre Audi a imaginé « un voyage esthétique dans un univers atemporel et singulier ». C’est en véritable musicien que Pierre Audi aborde ses mises en scène lyriques. Il retrouve pour cette nouvelle production le chef Daniele Gatti qui parvient toujours, dans la musique de Wagner, à susciter l’imaginaire. On attend ainsi avec impatience la fusion des sens – scénographie et musique – dès le merveilleux Prélude de l’opéra, avant que ne se déploie le drame musical, qui convoque, outre l’Orchestre national de France, les voix (et les corps) on ne peut mieux choisis de Torsten Kerl et Emily Magee dans les rôles-titres.
