Guitariste virtuose et improvisateur surdoué, Antonio Negro sublime depuis bien longtemps déjà de son toucher expert le flamenco, y apportant sa touche personnelle, celle d’un autodidacte né à Marseille en 1956, dans une famille gitane originaire d’Almería. Mais loin de s’en tenir à l’orthodoxie de cette tradition qu’il connaît sur le bout des doigts, il a su ouvrir le répertoire des Gitans du Sud Est, essentiellement centré sur la rumba, aux multiples formes flamencas dont la buleria, se frottant aussi à la musique occitane et à musique maghrébine. Pour ce récital, il s’inspire d’ailleurs du mythique poète grec, Orphée, entre exaltation des origines et innovation plus contemporaine. En clair, du chant et de la danse, des cordes sensibles et de bonnes surprises. Et toujours le duende, cet état d’esprit indéfinissable qui fait toute la puissance onirique du flamenco.
