Avignon off/La Scala-Provence / Musiques du monde
C’est à l’initiative du violoniste Richard Schmoucler qu’a été fondé le Sirba Octet, un ensemble typique des atypiques musiques d’Europe de l’Est, essentiellement klezmer et tziganes, un creuset esthétique à mi-chemin de la musique classique et de la musique traditionnelle. Aux côtés de celui qui en est le directeur artistique, des virtuoses (alto, violoncelle, contrebasse, piano…) sortis comme lui de l’Orchestre de Paris, tous au diapason d’une bande-son qui produit tout autant des élans endiablés qu’elle peut induire une réelle mélancolie, entre épiques cavalcades et oniriques extases.
Aux sources des trois traditions
Pour ce projet intitulé Tsuzamen, ils partent à la rencontre du Chœur d’enfants de l’Orchestre de Paris dirigé par Edwin Baudo en un prodigieux maelstrom vocal et instrumental, qui puisera aux sources des trois traditions ( les répertoires yiddish, arménien et tzigane) pour inviter à plonger corps et âme dans un inventif nouveau folklore où toutes les émotions se côtoient, afin d’exorciser les violences que ces minorités ont subi au fil des siècles. Douce amertume comme doux délires, ballades poignantes et danses tournoyantes, tout est permis dans cette création aux limites de bien des registres.
