Un cabaret butô, pourquoi pas ? Il ne s’agit pas ici de mélanger les genres, mais plutôt de s’inspirer de la forme du cabaret pour construire des petits numéros qui s’enchaînent tout au long du spectacle, sans lien ni grande idée force. Carlotta Ikeda a choisi de nous proposer un bestiaire de l’étrange, avec une distribution 100% féminine qui joue à fond la carte de la métamorphose. Grimées, costumées, harnachées à trois mètres en hauteur, les créatures d’Uchuu Cabaret défilent sans tabou. Expressionnisme, érotisme, cirque, butô… on se perd dans ce rêve éveillé, qui tourne parfois au cauchemar version Freaks. Dans cet univers très visuel, on regrette cependant le systématisme dans la construction et le manque d’ambition gestuelle, qui paralyse les danseuses sans leur offrir de vraies possibilités d’expression.
