« Et si on te disait que ton père est fou ? Et si on te disait que ta mère va partir ? (…) Qui le dit ? On. Les autres. »… Ces mots de rien cachés derrière la rumeur peu à peu instillent le doute, puis la honte qui répand son noir poison dans chaque geste du quotidien, jusqu’à dévorer toute joie, toute foi en soi. Le fils devenu homme aujourd’hui raconte cette terreur sans nom, cette honte qui le terrassait et qu’il a surmontée grâce à deux amis, en inventant avec eux un jardin secret imaginaire. Olivier Letellier, qui trace depuis quelques années son chemin sur les terres d’enfance, a passé commande d’écriture à l’écrivain Stéphane Jaubertie sur ce thème. « La honte est une émotion forte, violente, parfaitement universelle, expérimentée dès l’enfance, qui nous contraint à grandir et à façonner notre identité. Nous nous construisons en partie en réaction à des évènements violents, qui nous marquent et deviennent les moteurs de nos choix de vie fondateurs. Nous avons toujours honte par rapport à quelque chose. », explique-t-il. En scène, l’enfant d’hier retrouve ses camarades par la magie des marionnettes et rejoue les situations du passé pour mieux le dépasser.
