“C’est une maison de fous !”, dit l’un des personnages. Et c’est une société régie par l’argent et un individualisme forcené. Une dizaine de personnages gravite autour de Bois d’Enghien, qui cherche à se débarrasser de sa maîtresse, une chanteuse de café-concert, afin d’épouser une riche héritière. Isabelle Starkier souligne avec un délectable souci du détail et un sens comique dévoilant toute la cruauté des relations humaines la modernité étonnante de cette galerie de portraits. Les relations entre les personnages mêlent sans cesse férocité et drôlerie, narcissime et cynisme. Toute une machinerie se déploie et fonctionne à plein régime, montrant un monde déréglé proche de l’hystérie et de l’absurdité. Une jeune équipe de comédiens épatante, issue des Ateliers du Sudden, école de Raymond Acquaviva, interprète la pièce avec une énergie sans faille et une précision millimétrée.
