Dans Chantier naval, Jean-Paul Quéinnec évoquait l’émigration au Canada d’une population meurtrie, bafouée, après la fermeture du chantier naval grâce auquel elle vivait. Dans Un Marie-Salope (texte sous-titré Rafiot odyssée ciel terre mer pour le spectacle que met aujourd’hui en scène Antoine Caubet), on retrouve la même thématique de l’exil à travers le destin de Claude, personnage qui a un jour quitté sa famille pour réinventer sa vie au Canada. C’est l’impossible retour de cet Ulysse moderne vers sa Charente-Maritime natale que raconte le poème dramatique de Jean-Paul Quéinnec. Accompagné de Raymonde (son enfant, sa sœur, sa femme, son ange…), Claude fait face aux grands espaces canadiens, se demandant quelle empreinte, quelle photographie, quelle chanson, quelle lettre, quel enfant il laissera sur ces terres…
Un Ulysse moderne exilé au Canada
« L’écriture de Jean-Paul Quéinnec », déclare Antoine Caubet, « n’existe qu’en attente des voix qui vont dire, raconter, chanter, éructer ces mots, longs passages enivrants qui font exister les personnages dans le dire des désirs et des peurs bien plus que par leur psychologie ou leur condition sociale, sur lesquelles on ne s’arrête pas. Figures de papier, ils n’existent que par leur parole, leur corps étant respiration, poumons, côtes, jambes soutenant le ventre qui vit. Nervosité du verbe, longueur du souffle, concret des images, plénitude des sensations travaillées, l’acteur n’est pas tant en position d’explorer un « je » que de participer, corps jeté au monde, au souffle du chant. Et ce n’est pas pour autant devenir seulement voix de ce chant, car très vite la parole trace les contours d’une très forte intimité, comme par un retour vers un cœur battant : notre humanité. » Cette écriture « dessine ce mouvement vers le très large, les nuées », conclut le metteur en scène, « et en retour éclaire le petit, la vie minuscule qui bat ».
