C’est avec toute leur fraîcheur et leur rage de danser que reviennent les Via Katlehong, groupe de danseurs originaires du township de Katlehong, en Afrique du Sud. Dépositaires de la culture Pantsula, celle de la jeunesse rebelle et désœuvrée, et de la culture des mineurs dont le gumboots est une des expressions musicale et chorégraphique, ils reprennent à leur compte ces codes en les entremêlant et en jouant la carte de collaborations : hier avec Robyn Orlyn, aujourd’hui avec Hlengiwe Lushaba, chanteuse, actrice de télévision, performeuse et chorégraphe. Celle-ci a rêvé avec eux d’un Cabaret joyeux et plein d’inventions, donnant la part belle à leur virtuosité et à leur façon toute spéciale d’inclure dans leur danse la percussion corporelle. Un corps singulier et puissant, terrien et énergique bien distinct, de culture et de posture, de celui du Ballet de Lorraine. Pourtant, les danseurs du CCN se sont confrontés non sans risque mais avec générosité aux écritures proposées par les six chorégraphes invités dans ce programme : les deux tunisiens Hafiz Dhaou et Aïcha M’Barek, le sud-africain Boyzie Cekwana, et les burkinabés Salia Sanou et Seydou Boro.
Une Bérénice très théâtralisée
Sous le titre générique Désirs, c’est la rencontre qui est mise ici à l’honneur. Aïcha M’Barek et Hafiz Dhaou jouent la carte du groupe, donnant à la masse du ballet des élans communs pour mieux suggérer l’intime et la singularité des rencontres, à la fois au sein d’un groupe, dans un même pays, ou des deux côtés de la Méditerranée (Un des sens). Boyzie Cekwana donne vie aux lettres et aux mots à travers des Crossworlds puzzles pour huit danseurs mêlés aux fictions et aux réalités apportées par chacun. Curieusement, à l’heure où le tandem Salia nï Seydou disparaît, les deux burkinabés ont choisi le thème du duo pour leur dernière pièce commune, Fïlaa (« deux », en dioula)… En réel contraste quant au fond et à la forme, Faustin Linyekula clôt ce temps fort dédié aux créateurs africains avec Pour en finir avec Bérénice. Les vers de Racine sont convoqués dans un aller-retour constant avec la notion de langue maternelle et de langue française – ou langue officielle pour ce natif de la république démocratique du Congo. Dans cette forme très théâtralisée (la danse est incarnée par Faustin de façon troublante), les comédiens s’emparent avec justesse et intelligence de cette double problématique de l’histoire et de la langue.
