Hippodrome de Douai / de Catherine Anne / mes Joël Pommerat
Pour la première fois, Joël Pommerat n’écrit pas la partition de son spectacle, car il a choisi de mettre en scène ce premier texte de Catherine Anne, écrit en 1987, pour mettre en œuvre un projet de formation et de transmission qui place « les personnes dans les conditions réelles de la création et de la vie d’un spectacle sur la durée ». Le récit fait vivre cinq jeunes gens – deux hommes, trois femmes -, à l’heure de la difficile transition entre l’enfance et l’âge adulte, lorsque les rêves se heurtent au réel, lorsque les désirs bousculent les repères et emportent vers l’inconnu, lorsque les peurs et les révoltes surgissent avec force et s’entremêlent. Nous sommes au début du XXe siècle. L’un veut écrire et quitte le nid familial, l’autre souhaite partir en Angleterre… « La parole sonne juste. Catherine Anne a trouvé un équilibre entre romantisme, sentimentalisme et cruauté. Noirceur et légèreté. J’aime beaucoup cela. » confie Joël Pommerat, touché aussi par un sentiment de nostalgie d’une époque différente de notre actuelle hyper-modernité.
