« Olivier Py a souhaité que le travail des écoles d’art dramatique du territoire, lesquelles ont toujours été présentes en Avignon mais pas vraiment mises en lumière, soit cette année placé sous les feux de la rampe. L’Ecole de La Comédie de St Etienne, par le biais de son directeur Arnaud Meunier, a répondu à cette attente. J’apprécie particulièrement le dynamisme, la joyeuse vitalité et l’homogénéité de la promotion 26 de l’école. C’est une formidable aventure, sur le plan artistique et sur le plan pédagogique.
Poème choral
Neuf jeunes élèves-comédiens, cinq garçons et quatre filles, font entendre un texte inédit, Nature Morte, de l’écrivain et performeur Manolis Tsipos. Cette pièce atypique, sans rôles, nous invite à rester le plus proche possible du moment de sa fabrication. Elle met en scène l’histoire d’un groupe de jeunes gens et de jeunes filles d’aujourd’hui. Le poème choral nous engage sur un chemin proche de la performance, expérimental, permettant d’éviter l’écueil du théâtre documentaire et d’ouvrir sur la portée universelle du texte. »
