« Faut pas ti rissembles à moi ». Ce mot d’ordre lâché dans un français écorché par un père ouvrier qui trime dans une mine de ciment, le petit Nabil l’a vissé dans la caboche toute son enfance. Il deviendra donc Premier ministre de la France, promesse solennelle en est faite – secrètement – au paternel ! Pataugeant dans le marécage de l’école républicaine, le fils d’immigré trouve chez son camarade Jean-Luc une famille d’adoption qui va le rincer de ses origines et le hisser sur les rails de la réussite sociale. Tante Geneviève, missionnaire fraîchement rapatriée d’Afrique en mal de bonnes œuvres à accomplir, entreprend avec mansuétude de civiliser cet enfant en friche et de le fondre dans le moule des valeurs de la bourgeoisie catholique, les seules qui vaillent, évidemment. Fini, les courses de chariot chez Carrefour et les soirées au Macumba… Le gamin enfile un à un tous les atours de la distinction afin de se glisser dans le costume amidonné du jeune-diplômé-plein-d’avenir, fasciné qu’il est par la reconnaissance que procurent ces estampilles dans la « bonne société ».
Le mordant de l’ironie et la finesse du jeu
Nabil ponce ainsi son accent, puis blondit ses cheveux, puis s’inscrit à l’aumônerie, puis troque son prénom pour celui de Noël… jusqu’à renier sa famille pour devenir un parfait clone du modèle français d’intégration, qui, rivé à l’idéal d’universel, ne sait pas penser l’altérité. Sauf que, in fine, le droit du sang prévaut sur celui du sol… En témoigne l’étonnante uniformité chromatique de nos classes dirigeantes. Seul en scène, Nasser Djemaï fait vivre tous les personnages de cette histoire, largement autobiographique, avec le talent du Caubère d’avant le cabotinage. Maniant le mordant de l’ironie et la finesse du jeu, il croque ces bons Samaritains de l’assimilation qui décolorent l’Autre à la Javel républicaine, quitte à le rendre transparent.
