Ils sont cinq et ne sont pas comédiens. André Boiron, Eric Jayat, Alain Pera, Louis Perego et sa compagne Annette Foex. Ce sont pourtant eux qui monteront, du 12 au 17 avril, sur le plateau de la Maison des Métallos pour parler, dans Une Longue Peine, de leur expérience de l’enfermement. « C’est à partir d’un matériau brut de réponses données à des questions que je travaille, explique Didier Ruiz. Je laisse à chaque participant, qui devient son propre auteur, la liberté de créer un texte qui n’est pas écrit mais qui s’invente à chaque fois, à partir d’une trame qui aura été vue en répétition. On voit cette bande d’hommes et de femmes, qui nous disent qui ils sont et en même temps nous renvoient, à nous spectateurs, un questionnement sur ce que nous sommes. » A travers ces présences et ces paroles, le metteur en scène cherche à « dé-stigmatiser les détenus vis-à-vis du reste de la population ». A « sortir des clichés et de l’imaginaire collectif concernant les prisons ».
