Comme souvent chez Rambert, les intentions sont louables, et pour son nouveau spectacle – Une (micro) histoire économique du monde, dansée – le metteur en scène choisit de mettre en perspective la fiction des histoires personnelles avec l’Histoire de l’économie mondiale. Quelques « idées » de cette Histoire, écrites par Rambert qui a étudié la question avec le philosophe Éric Méchoulan, sont ré-improvisées en direct sur le plateau par Clémentine Baert, Cécile Musitelli, Kate Moran et Virginie Vaillant. La première saynète se situe en 1720, dans la Coffee-House de M. Lloyd où discutent armateur, capitaine et marchand maritime. L’assureur Lloyd s’applique à restaurer la confiance, un verre à la main, gérant la peur et la notion de risques. L’idée de don et de contre-don de l’anthropologue Mauss est mimée en une chorégraphie savante et gracieuse par la cinquantaine de non professionnels, hommes et femmes, jeunes et plus âgés issus des ateliers d’écriture et de la chorale de l’École Nationale de Musique de Gennevilliers. La scène est investie par cette foule anonyme et bigarrée.
Les êtres décalés dessinent les mouvements de la vie quotidienne
L’immense plateau profond et blanc ressemble à une boîte mentale, chambre claire révélatrice, sous les sonorités de I started a joke des Bee Gees et de Knockin’On Heaven’s Door de Dylan. Dans le silence, les êtres décalés dessinent les mouvements de la vie quotidienne à travers les gestes amples ou repliés de leur corps autonome. Pendant que cette foule évolue sans nécessité sur le plateau, Adam Smith, philosophe de la morale économique, est mis à l’honneur. Le spectateur passe une soirée chez Mallarmé, poète fin de siècle pour qui importent, seules, l’esthétique et l’économie politique. Enfin, voici la rue américaine avec les victimes des « subprimes » : « la crise n’est pas une perturbation potentielle, elle est nécessaire à la relance incessante de l’instabilité chronique. » Les commentaires au micro de Méchoulan ponctuent l’action. Aussi sincères soient les préoccupations citoyennes de Rambert, le spectacle reste pesant. Le travail d’atelier théâtral est illustratif et anecdotique ; quant aux saynètes, à peine esquissées, elles sont insuffisantes. Comme l’économie, la scène est à penser à travers le développement intime de soi et dans la relation aux autres, avec les acteurs professionnels ou pas, et aussi le public qu’on n’abandonne pas en chemin.
