Le marathon dansé commence par de la boxe, avec la nouvelle pièce de Mourad Merzouki. Entourés du quatuor Debussy, les neuf danseurs revisitent tous les codes et les clichés de ce sport, loin de la sueur et de la souffrance. Ils font de la boxe, comme du hip hop, un art du spectacle, du strass et des paillettes, loin de l’idée de lutte et de combat. C’est ce qui transparaît doucement en filigrane de la pièce de Raphaëlle Delaunay, Bitter Sugar : un combat porté par les afro-américains, dans le contexte sociopolitique qui a fait émerger les danses swing reprises dans son spectacle. Une pièce magnifiquement incarnée par cinq danseuses tout en finesse et en virtuosité.
Une ligne virtuose dans chaque projet
Deuxième signature hip hop de la semaine, celle de Pierre Rigal : chorégraphe contemporain, il faisait l’expérience de la technique hip hop à travers ce projet, petite forme initialement créée pour Suresnes, et qu’il a développée. Asphalte, bien que puisant dans une réalité urbaine, la transforme dans un esprit pop et coloré. Le temps fort s’achève sur la présence d’Israel Galvan, l’un des plus grands danseurs de flamenco d’aujourd’hui. Avec La Edad de Oro, il affirme un style épuré et un grande maîtrise de la technique au service d’un élan novateur pour sa danse.
