D’abord diffusé clandestinement à Prague en 1976, Une trop bruyante solitude de Bohumil Hrabal dénonce les normes totalitaires avec un sens aigu du grotesque et de la dérision, et avec un immense respect pour les livres, ennemis irréductibles de la pensée unique et de la dictature. Rat au fond de son cloaque, travaillant sans relâche, Hanta presse depuis trente-cinq ans les vieux papiers et repère parfois dans le flot des promis au pilon le dos d’un volume précieux qu’il sauve, repêche et lit, comme on sirote un nectar. Erudit raffiné, crasseux, buveur de bière et solitaire, Hanta célèbre les voix des poètes et les joies du savoir, tout en accomplissant sa besogne. « Ce massacre d’innocents, il faut bien quelqu’un pour le faire ». Avec tout l’amour des mots qui caractérise sa conviction artistique, Laurent Fréchuret met en scène « cette résistance joyeuse par l’imagination », contre les machines à broyer l’humain. Dans une composition sonore et lumineuse très travaillée, le comédien Thierrry Gibault révèle toute l’étendue de son talent et célèbre la puissance et le plaisir de la littérature contre la barbarie.
