Théâtre des Champs-Élysées / Piano / Danse / Création
Le projet Unstill Life, au titre détournant le nom d’un genre qui traverse toute l’histoire de la peinture (Still Life, Nature morte), est le fruit du croisement de deux destins artistiques. Ainsi qu’Alexandre Tharaud le résumait dans un entretien en 2021, il s’est d’abord rêvé danseur tandis que Benjamin Millepied se voulait pianiste. Si l’idée d’une résidence à l’Opéra de Paris pendant que le chorégraphe y était directeur de la danse n’a pu se concrétiser, les deux artistes se retrouvent, plusieurs années plus tard, dans un spectacle intime qui veut mettre en lumière ce que le jeu du pianiste doit à ses années de barre et la manière dont le geste du danseur se nourrit des notes. Sur des pages de Bach, Rameau, Beethoven, Schubert ou Ravel, puisant parmi le cœur du répertoire d’Alexandre Tharaud, Benjamin Millepied donne corps à des harmonies en un duo qui inscrit dans le mouvement même de la vie et de ses hasards les techniques et langages musicaux et chorégraphiques.
