Chacune des pièces de Meg Stuart est un voyage, où les collaborations avec des artistes venus de champs divers impriment le processus chorégraphique jusqu’à l’emporter très loin. Pour autant, la question du corps reste extrêmement centrale, et les outils compositionnels propres à la danse, ainsi que l’improvisation, restent au cœur de la construction de l’œuvre. Until our hearts stop a été créé en 2015 avec six performeurs et trois musiciens sur scène. Plongés dans une sorte de lieu underground, qui pourrait être un night-club, les êtres laissent entrevoir une énergie commune à être ensemble, cherchant le contact les uns avec les autres. La chorégraphe s’attache aussi aux individualités, attitudes et postures traduisant les désirs enfouis et les illusions perdues. Ce sont autant de danses, d’actes, de micro-drames qui se jouent, et que semble permettre ce lieu propice à l’acceptation de nouvelles règles. Un monde qui ne peut cependant pas cacher les peurs et la quête d’une autre réalité qui se joue devant nous.
