Qu’est-ce qui vous a touché dans le parcours de Samuel Simorgh ?
Le projet est né du désir d’un comédien, Alban Aumard, qui m’a demandé de l’accompagner. Le parcours de Samuel Simorgh a des résonances de conte initiatique. Parce qu’il a tout perdu, cet as de la finance réapprend à s’émerveiller des menus choses de l’existence, à regarder un sourire qui soudain s’illumine, l’éclat furtif d’un trouble au coin de l’œil. Il nettoie son passé et redécouvre les émotions d’enfance. Il met d’ailleurs en place un dispositif pour vivre cet émerveillement : il vole, ou plutôt emprunte des voitures, qu’il astique avec soin, puis ramène à leur place. Il s’assoie alors à une terrasse de café pour observer la réaction des propriétaires, pour voir l’étonnement, le bonheur sur leur visage.
Le parcours de cet homme semble finalement le symptôme d’une société embarquée dans une course folle à l’efficacité et la rapidité.
Contrairement à nos grands-parents qui ont vécu la pénurie de biens matériels, notre génération souffre du manque de sens, de ce qui ne peut s’acheter. L’univers de Samuel Simorgh baignait dans le monde spéculatif, déshumanisé, de l’argent virtuel, déconnecté finalement de la réalité commune à la plupart des citoyens. Le brutal effondrement de ce qui fondait sa réussite sociale le pousse à trouver une autre voie, à chercher l’essentiel, à regarder l’autre. La langue de Fabrice Melquiot révèle cette métamorphose avec beaucoup de délicatesse et de drôlerie désenchantée. Elle s’appuie sur une situation très concrète, trouée d’envolées poétiques et de pointes de dérision. Cette base réaliste sert de point d’ancrage et permet de basculer dans l’onirisme.
Quel sont les axes de travail avec Alban Aumard ?
Le processus passe d’abord par l’apprentissage du texte au plus intime. Le monologue exige que l’acteur soit habité par les mots. Il faut les mâcher, encore et encore, jusqu’à les faire totalement siens. Nous travaillons le sens, les intonations, le rythme, le cheminement de cet homme qui revient vers son humanité. La langue de Fabrice Melquiot, comme celle de Koltès, coule avec naturel. Nous cherchons le mouvement du phrasé, avec les ruptures, les chevauchements de pensées, les soudaines bifurcations. Comme la vie.
