Un mois entier : aucune excuse pour ne pas venir se réfugier, le temps d’un week-end ou d’une seule soirée, dans ce Village de Cirque niché sur la Pelouse de Reuilly, derrière le Bois de Vincennes. Jeunes artistes et compagnies consacrées vont se côtoyer, traversant un grand nombre des disciplines du cirque, mais aussi des formules en perpétuelle invention (carte blanche, brunchs…). Attention, artistes en liberté ! Trois temps forts cimentent le Village de Cirque, avec trois compagnies différentes : le Cirque Baroque, la compagnie Galapiat, et les Nouveaux Nez. Emmené par Christian Taguet, le Cirque Baroque relève avec sa toute nouvelle création Le Cirque des Gueux un étrange pari : s’inspirer de L’Opéra des Gueux de John Gay pour un spectacle composé de trois parties bien distinctes, imaginées par trois metteurs en scène et trois compositeurs différents ! L’éclectisme est de mise vu la singularité des créateurs (Kazuyoshi Kushida / François Morel, Mauricio Celedon / Luc Le Masne, Karelle Pruganud / Eric Mouquet), et c’est l’atmosphère des bas-fonds de Londres et la thématique des désordres d’une société qui fait le ciment de la pièce.

Née de la 18ème promotion du Centre National des Arts du Cirque, la compagnie Galapiat affirme son ancrage dans les fondamentaux du cirque : le collectif, le chapiteau et la piste circulaire, la virtuosité, sont des éléments incontournables de son travail. Avec Risque Zéro, ils mettent en lumière six personnages, six étrangetés qui se rencontrent et croisent leurs parcours. Assumant une prise de risque sans concessions et un esprit de liberté et d’intransigeance, ils foncent tête baissée pour crier leur soif de vivre sous forme de rituels fondateurs. Enfin, objet incontournable de toute fête dédiée au cirque, le spectacle de clown est ici revu et corrigé à l’aune du travail d’une grande dame du genre : Madame Françoise. En solo, elle reprend le chemin de l’école dans Alpha Bête, sous la direction du complice de toujours André Riot-Sarcey. Le Village de Cirque permet aussi de partir à la découverte d’autres formes de cirque, toutes fraîches ou en cours d’élaboration, avec les Week-Ends Kidnapping. A essayer sans grand danger, puisqu’on nous l’assure, il n’y aura pas de lions.
