TE DEUM / MUSIQUE SACREE / CHATEAU DE VERSAILLE / CHAPPELLE ROYALE
Musique de prestige et de célébration par excellence, le Te Deum et son sens du monumental est chez lui sous les ors de Versailles, surtout quand il s’agit de glorifier le « plus grand Roi du monde »… Deux grands maîtres du Motet français ont marqué le répertoire versaillais avec leur Te Deum : Lully en 1677 puis Charpentier en 1692. Si celui de Charpentier assura sa célébrité (jusqu’à faire de sa fanfare en rondeau le célèbre indicatif de l’Eurovision), celui de Lully lui porta moins chance car c’est en le dirigeant qu’il se blessa d’un coup de canne à l’origine d’une gangrène qui allait l’emporter… Vincent Dumestre défend (et enregistre) ces deux partitions spectaculaires sur les lieux mêmes de leur création, très bien entouré des instrumentistes et choristes de son Poème Harmonique, et des voix solistes d’Amel Brahim-Djelloul (dessus), Aurore Bucher (dessus), Reinoud Van Mechelen (haute contre), Jeffrey Thompson (taille) et Benoît Arnould (basse).
