Purcell, Mozart, Bellini, Bizet, Verdi, Glinka, Leoncavallo… Airs et extraits de Didon et Enée, Don Juan, Les Noces de Figaro, Paillasse, La Traviata, Carmen… Maria est une diva pas comme les autres. Elle descend de son piédestal, elle laisse de côté l’opéra doré, codifié et feutré pour faire entendre la musique au plus grand nombre, mieux même, pour déclencher parfois l’envie d’une nouvelle pratique artistique. Elle délaisse la maison d’opéra qui semble à beaucoup une Bastille imprenable pour chanter le répertoire dans divers lieux de vie, au cœur des cités, ou sur scène. La prestation de la soprano Marie Duisit, sous la direction de Jean-Dominique Burroni, chef de la musique de scène à l’Opéra de Paris, et dans la mise en scène de Séverine Gambier, bouscule la frontière entre le public et la scène, prouvant ainsi de façon manifeste que la compagnie Opéra autrement œuvre pour un théâtre lyrique populaire, ressenti et partagé.
