On entre dans Vu comme si l’on entrait dans le salon de ce personnage : un décor du quotidien, chaise miniature et table basse – très basse – pour une petite forme en proximité avec les spectateurs. Une normalité qui cessera vite, car il y a comme une obsession chez ce monsieur : avec lui, les objets ne se comportent pas tout à fait comme on pourrait le penser… Avec sa minutie et sa patience à l’extrême, il installe une tension et une écoute, puis, poussée à bout dans son propre fonctionnement, l’histoire prend un autre tournant. A la fois jongleur, clown muet et roi du détournement d’objet, Etienne Manceau maîtrise l’art de révéler un monde avec presque rien : subtile maîtrise de la lenteur, du ratage, dosage de l’attention et de l’humour, virtuosité de l’infime geste, autant de paramètres qui font de Vu une ode à la poésie du quotidien.
