De son vrai titre Walking next to our shoes, intoxicated by strawberries and cream, we enter continents without knocking, la pièce a été créée dans la droite ligne de Dressed to kill… killed to dress, le précédent travail de Robyn Orlin autour des Swenkas, ces groupes d’ouvriers zoulous qui se réunissaient pour des concours d’élégance. Ici, on retrouve l’attachement de la chorégraphe pour une communauté et une culture, qui met en lumière une chorale, la Phuphuma Love Minus. Leurs chants et leur danse, faite de piétinement (l’isicathamiya) sont empreints de l’histoire de ces hommes et femmes, qui ont migré des campagnes vers les villes. Leurs propos sont très ancrés dans le quotidien et les problèmes qu’ils traversent. Comme elle sait le faire, Robyn Orlin mêle images, chants, danse et interaction avec le public. Très touchés par la présence de ces chanteurs et de leur magnifique diva, les spectateurs entrent de plain-pied dans la proposition, même si la vision de la chorégraphe et son propos ne font pas autant recette.
