PHILHARMONIE / CINE-CONCERT
En signant à la tête du Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra en 2000 un album entièrement dédié aux musiques de cinéma de Bernard Herrmann (The Film Scores, Sony classical), le chef finlandais Esa-Pekka Salonen a beaucoup contribué à repositionner l’œuvre du compositeur américain dans le vaste champ de la musique de la seconde moitié du XXème siècle, en éclairant d’une lumière nouvelle toute l’intensité dramatique et l’éclat orchestral de son écriture. Il a ainsi démontré que nombre de ses partitions pour l’image peuvent s’épanouir en concert, hors de tout contexte cinématographique. Ce n’est pas le parti-pris retenu par les programmateurs lors de ce week-end Hitchcock à la Philharmonie, et en toute logique puisqu’il est consacré au réalisateur et non à son composteur fétiche… Le week-end réserve deux temps forts qui combleront les fans d’Alfred Hitchcock autant que ceux de Bernard Herrmann : la projection en version ciné-concert de Psychose (samedi 3 février à 20h30) puis Vertigo (le 4 à 16h30), avec la prestation en direct du Britten Sinfonia dirigé par Ernst Van Tiel en lieu et place de la bande son musicale originale. De quoi frissonner encore un peu plus…
