REPRISE / BASTILLE
On retrouve avec plaisir la mise en scène épurée et sensible du cinéaste Benoît Jacquot du chef-d’œuvre romantique de Massenet, donnée à Bastille en 2010. Le ténor polonais Piotr Beczala, habitué de l’Opéra de Paris, reprend le flambeau de Werther à la superstar Jonas Kaufmann, avec à ses côtés l’intense mezzo lettone Elina Garanca en Charlotte. Du côté de l’orchestre, la baguette est confiée au maestro Alain Lombard, qui avait inopinément quitté l’Opéra en 2011 en plein Faust suite à un différend avec Roberto Alagna. On lui fait confiance pour sublimer le lyrisme enflammé et la profonde mélancolie de la partition.
