Téhéran, janvier 2009. Six garçons et filles discutent par téléphones portables, de temps à autre se croisent, tentent de se retrouver. Ils répètent une pièce de théâtre, organisent des rendez-vous clandestins devant l’université, parlent en langage codé. Il est question d’une « perruque », qu’ils doivent se remettre… en fait, un pistolet, mystérieusement disparu lors des répétitions. Mots couverts, craintes sournoises et autres réflexes de dissimulation façonnent les attitudes au quotidien de ces jeunes sous surveillance ordinaire. Revenu en Iran en juillet 2009, après deux ans de doctorat théâtral à Manchester, l’auteur et metteur en scène Amir Reza Koohestani a brutalement pris conscience qu’il ne pourrait jamais partager l’expérience de ceux qui ont connu les manifestations de 2009. « J’ai ainsi décidé d’examiner attentivement les changements de comportement des gens pendant ces événements, des événements que je n’ai pas vécus avec eux. » explique-t-il. Cernés par un dispositif bi-frontal, les comédiens laissent deviner, sous les conversations banales, la pression latente pesant sur la jeunesse.
