PHILHARMONIE ET CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES
Sur un livret d’Antonio Salvi d’après l’Arioste, Haendel narre les amours d’Ariodante et Ginevra, princesse d’Écosse, contrariés par les manœuvres du rival Polinesso. Les péripéties s’enchaînent avec une parfaite limpidité. Surtout, elles offrent un éventail d’airs et de musiques qui sondent par la voix, par la danse, par les sonorités de l’orchestre l’âme des personnages. Léa Desandre a souvent chanté les airs d’Ariodante mais n’avait jamais abordé l’opéra dans son entièreté. Elle le fait ici en compagnie d’une jeune distribution prête à se frotter à des rôles illustrés ces dernières décennies par quelques-unes des plus grandes voix baroques. On attend ainsi beaucoup de la soprano Ana Vieira Leite et du contre-ténor Hugh Cutting (Polinesso) au côté des haendeliens chevronnés Ana Maria Labin (Ginevra) et Krešimir Špicer (Lurcanio).
