Le Musée d’Orsay met le violoncelle à l’affiche à travers une série de trois concerts. Xavier Phillips ouvre la voie avec le brio et la fougue qu’on lui connaît dans un programme « carte blanche » consacré à Poulenc, Vierne, Ravel, Stravinski et Prokofiev (avec Emmanuel Strosser au piano). Suivront la grande dame russe de l’instrument, Natalia Gutman avec Elisso Virsaladze au piano, en mai, dans Brahms (Sonate pour violoncelle et piano n° 1 en mi mineur op. 38 ; Sonate pour violoncelle et piano n° 2 en fa majeur op. 99) et Schumann (Stücke im Volkston op. 102 n° 1 à 5 ; Fantasiestücke op. 73 n° 1 à 3), puis en juin, Sonia Wieder-Atherton avec Georges Pludermacher. A signaler absolument aussi, toujours avec Xavier Phillips au Musée d’Orsay : une soirée prenant place dans le formidable cycle « Paris cosmopolite » témoignant de l’effervescence artistique de notre ville dans les années 20. Avec la complicité de son frère Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian au violon, de Romain Guyot à la clarinette et d’Emmanuel Strosser au piano, le jeune violoncelliste et ses amis joueront la Sonate pour violon et violoncelle en ut majeur de Ravel, les Contrastes pour clarinette, violon et piano Sz. 111 de Bartok, les Huit pièces pour clarinette, violoncelle et piano, op. 83 (extraits) de Max Bruch et enfin la rare Revue de cuisine H. 161 de Martinu, musique de ballet fantaisiste par instant influencée par le jazz et composée en 1927 pour être dansée avec des ustensiles de cuisine ! L’œuvre sera ici présentée dans sa version pour piano seul et non dans la version originale pour petit ensemble.
